Thumbs up Is it Spring yet?

Ok its official now, I have spring fever. I'm on a trip overnighting in Montgomery AL, temp is 73 and partly cloudy. You can see the buds on the trees just waiting to bloom. I went for a run through a park near the hotel. There were lots of little ponds, people out walking and running. In a few weeks I'm sure it will be brilliant with spring colors.

Its not PDC, but you know sometimes you gotta just stop and smell the flowers

Things are popping up everywhere around here too!

I am so ready for the spring...my favorite time of year. I'm starting to feel like my dogs who love to go roll all around in the grass when the sun is shining and the sky is warm. It is beautiful here today, almost 80 and sunshine. I just ordered my herb plants, seeds and vegetables from Richters yesterday...can't wait to get planting.

LOL I've had spring fever ever since WINTER started!! But that may be because I have been sick on and off with viruses, the flu and now this cold or whatever it is...Being married sure has its downsides meaning you get everything that your husband has! I am ready to get out and get back in swimsuit shape!! My dogs are loving this weather too...too bad we don't have a backyard yet where they can roll around the yard..

Oh lordy, we are a long way off from spring around here yet!

Still minus 20-ish overnight and daytime highs below freezing. Yuck.

But we leave for Playa Sunday!! So who cares! When we get back it will be a LOT nicer.

I'm leaving for Ashville NC today, forcast is low 28 tonight. Wintery mix for tomorrow hi 44. So much for spring, though the signs are there. TN, GA, and AL got the first of the spring thunderstorms. We were 2 hours late leaving ATL. Aw the downside to spring.....

Mountains of NC have a climate all their own. Here in the piedmont triad area of NC, it's in the 60s today. Absolutely gorgeous day... had the sunroof open and windows down riding around town. Low tonight is expected to be 42F.

Here's a little weather trivia... NC has the most diverse climate of any state east of the Mississippi River... mainly due to its diverse range in altitude. Regardless of the season... the mountains are 20F cooler than the coast... and the piedmont where we live is somewhere in between the two... both in terms of climate and geography.

Trimming apple trees in shirt sleeves here & the decorative Japanese plums are blooming, there's something wrong with this picture.

One more month and it will come, but meanwhile:

7> PRAGUE: Tank tops (with real tanks).
6> TOKYO: Godzilla turns his fancy from a path of destruction to thoughts of
love.
5> FRANCE: French Army stocks up on white flags at annual White Sale.
4> ENGLAND: Leichester Larry comes out of his flat and smiles.

Yeah... Asheville is a world all it's own. Ever look at the precip map for the mountains? Asheville a tiny little dry spot in the middle of a rainforest... almost. (Transylvania County qualifies as rainforest or close to it). Crocuses have been blooming here all month... and jonquils and daffodils are above ground but not blooming just yet. It's been a very mild winter here this year... no complaints from me.

Daffodils blooming in our corner of the Willamette Valley - and crocus and snowdrops and geraniums and hyacinths and helleborus and primrose. Lots of other stuff coming up but not near blooming time yet. Neighbor had a couple of roses in January - and I mowed the yard yesterday.

Need rain and snow in the moutains. Snowpack here is at 34% of normal - looks like it could be a bad fire season in Northwest forests.

Might have to try to make time to go up to those big gardens outside of Victoria, BC.
