I want to post my trip report and typed it in ms word. I cut and pasted it and the > lace thing a ma bobs come up in my report. What do I need to do different?

Once in the posting box, you won't actually see them, right?
But you can still 'backspace' them all out. No problem.
Use the 'Preview Post' button to check whether you got them all out before you actually 'Submit Reply'.
Oh, and another thing: you can always edit your posts afterwards by clicking the 'Edit'-button at the lower right side of your post.
