Aventura Spa Palace

Hi everyone, I'm new to this board. My husband and I just booked Aventura Spa Palace, and will be visiting there this October. I'm so excited! I'd love to read some reviews from people who visited there, and if you have any photos of the resort, I'd love to see some!

We are visiting the ASP for the first time in April. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to researching things, so I've learned quite a bit about the place. besides this site, a good place for reviews is tripadvisor.com. Do a search for ASP and you will find hundreds of reviews from past guests. For pictures, I would recommend the following site http://www.bacheler.net/web.php this site not only has a ton of pictures for the ASP, but also Xpu-Ha Palace as well. If you have any questions, let me know.

WOW!What a great web site! We are heading to Xpu-Ha Palace in two weeks and your site gave me lots of info! The pictures are wonderful. Now that you've been there.... what were your favorite things to do on site and what room location would you try to request. We like to be close to the water or have a good view, not necessarily ocean but that would nice!

Now that I reread your post....maybe this isn't your website???? Sorry!

Thank you everyone for sharing your photos and memories of your trip to Aventura! Awesome photos!!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at Aventura, and I'm really looking foward to it! We've taken cruises, but wanted to do something different this year, and I think we made the right choice!

I have to ask.... What's a Mayan Coffee? I seen from the photos it's set on fire, but what does it taste like? It looks really yummy!!

Had the Mayan coffee at Barcelo...It was very good. Not sure what all was in it but it did have Kahlua and brandy in it. I don't drink coffee at all but loved this drink at the end of my meal. The "show" was well worth it!

Even though we wont be there for several more months.... sigh......

What's it like when you first get there? We arrive in Cancun about 6:30 'ish and I know we wont make it in time to get a table at one of the restaurants. Are there any good buffets, or a nice place to eat after you get settled in?

You might be surprised....because there are no reservations needed in the restaurants you still can probably get a table.

We arrived in the evening our first time at the Aventura-Spa and were a bit tired out, so we just ordered room service and took advantage of the jacuzzi in the room to relax and unwind.

I second that SunDowner! There were many nights when we made it to dinner at 9 or 10 and had no problems getting a table. Also, we stayed in one night and had room service - and that was as good if not better than some of the restaurants.

I'd have to agree as well about room service. There's at least one night when you just don't feel like going out and the room service feature is great. A bonus is the jacuzzi of course with a bottle of wine.......

Jacuzzi

....word of advice about using the small bottle of bubble bath they provide for the Jacuzzi. We've found that you really don't want to use the entire bottle at one time

Looking back on it now though it was kinda funny

LOL!! I can just imagine!

Hey! I thought of another question...
What are some good drinks to try at ASP? I've tried all the typical cruise drinks, BBC's, Miami Vice's, blue hurricaine, etc....

What are some other good exotic drinks that are not to be missed?
