Lindo ?s

Just returned from Playacar and want to go back!!! Thinking about checking out a different resort next time. The Lindo looks really nice but is the layout large and spreadout or is it a smaller resort? i.e. are the pools close to the beach and rooms? It also sounds like it may be expensive. Any comparisons to Gala in terms of layout and price (or anything other comparisons) would be appreciated.

TGIF!!!

It took us a minute or two to walk to the Del Mar pool from our room, less than that to the Lindo. Might be room/ building location. Loved our trip!

I have been to both the Gala and Lindo. The walk to the beach depends greatly on your room location at each. Both times I was at the Gala I upgraded to Royal Club and the rooms are beachfront. We were at the Lindo last Nov. Our room was pretty much in the middle of the complex. It is a short walk from the pool to the beach. I prefered the beach at the Gala, but just about everything else at the Lindo. We visited the Ib Tucan for a day to take advantage of the beach. It is located next to the Gala. We are returning in June to the Lindo. I have stayed twice at the Gala and enjoyed both trips, but the Lindo to me has much more to offer. There was not much, if any difference in the price. The Lindo has a free bus shuttle to Playa del Carmen that runs several times a day. Also if you stay at the Lindo, you can visit all the other Iberostar properties, maybe with the exception of the Maya. Awsome pools at the Lindo. Which ever you choose you can't go wrong. Enjoy!!

Go to iberodise.com and check the Lindo information. I think they also have a map. I like building 53, I always ask for pool view 2 or 3 floor (no elevators here).

The Lindo is pretty large, but I don't think it is so large as to make the walk to the beach unbearable. As far as getting to the pool, it pretty much runs the length of the resort (at least where the rooms are). We were on the second floor (top) of our building, so we didn't have any noise from above. I have heard this can sometimes be a concern at most resorts. I have a pretty detailed review on this site if you are interested, and a slightly shorter review in the reviews section. The only real downside to the Lindo in my opinion is the distance to PDC. Good luck in your search.
