Bahia Info Thread
Just booked (Thank you Shams
) our June trip to the Bahia Tulum. Can any one give me some hints and suggestions for the best building to request ?I would like a good view (ocean ?) and to be centrally located. And if any one has any recent pictures can you point me in the right direction to find them. THANKS !! |

Buildings 4,5,11,12,34 and 35 would be the most centrally located with OV. Buildings 22,23,31 and 32 also have OV but are further away from the lobby and buffet restaurant. The grounds are beautiful so the extra walking time from the further buildings is not that bad!
I found pictures when I was researching this resort last year at http://community.webshots.com/album/36288789oDEDBZ so check them out for an idea of what the place looks like. I am sure you will have a great time as we did. Good luck! |

Taps my darling....it's gonna be difficult for you to request a certain building.
You lucked out and are being upgraded to a junior suite for free (all bookings between 3/3 and 3/20 for travel through 6/24 are being upgraded). Now we still don't yet know if they will put you on the Tulum side, where there are very few jr. suites, or put you on the Akumal side, where they have almost all jr. suites (and which is nicer in my opinion too). So if you request a building on the Tulum side, they may not have a jr. suite for you there and send you to the Akumal side since they must upgrade you anyway. If you request a jr. suite on the Akumal side, they may think you're crazy because you're supposed to be on the Tulum side. Get the picture here? I would simply wait it out and see where they put you when you get there. If you really HATE the room location, go back to the front desk and ask them to change you then and there. You're going before it gets busy busy so the resort should be able to put you almost anywhere. Just my 2 centavos of course!

Cripes..... some people will never learn....... ![]() Tappy!!! I'm so happy to hear that you've booked your vacay!!!! Let me know when you find some pics of the resort itself. While the link posted above shows a GORGEOUS beach (yay!!!), I'd love to see pics of the resort itself. The only bad thing that I can see so far is that you won't be down there in May when we will be there!

And you just may...there are 630 rooms on the Akumal side and 558 of them are junior suites. The law of averages says...... The upgrade was for new bookings only, made between 3/3 and 3/20. You must also travel is between now and 6/24. Hey, don't feel too bad, I'M already booked at the Bahia for 4/23 - 5/1 and I didn't get in on the free upgrade either!
