which direction?

Would anyone happen to know, if staying at the Riu Palace, which direction would be best to walk? We'd love to not have to deal too much with the erosion issue (if possible).

When we were at the IB* Tucan last January we didn't have any erosion at the beach. Tucan is located a little south of Riu Palace.
The erosion thing being discussed so far was north of Riu Palace.
I don't know the current situation, of course, but I'd figure to go south...

We stayed at the at the Gala. The beaches toward town, I am assuming north??? were heavily eroded, the virgin beach to the south ( towards the area where there were no hotels) was just fine. Can you tell I am directionaly challenged??? I am much better with landmarks...............
