ATV Explorer?

We want to do the ATV Explorer tour. This is our first time to Playa (we usually go to Cancun) and the transportation seems to be much more difficult. We are staying at IB del Mar. How would we get to the tour? I think a taxi would be very costly. What are my options?

ATV tour

Just a thought: check out the recent article in Playa Maya News (www.playamayanews.com) about the ATV tours. The editor loved the tour and gives some good information.

As to location, they are about 15 minutes south of Playa, so not a cheap taxi ride.

The tour is a blast. Taxi isn't very much at all if I remember correctly? Maybe $10? I found transportation to be just fine in Playa.

We stayed at the Riu Tequila last year, and the cab was $10 each way.

Maybe a collectivo?

Either way though, the ATV tour was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.

I went on this tour a week ago sunday - when you make your reservation you might want to make if for the 3 pm tour which appeared to be much less crowded then the earlier tours. Bring a bandana to cover mouth, nose as it is very dusty at this time. Great tour

I had a great time on the ATV tour. Saw a couple of Mayan ruins and the dip in the cenote was refreshing. Dusty?

Cute picture! When we go ATV-ing here, we always have a bandana for covering up our mouths/noses. It really helps! I would assume sunglasses are a must, also. Looks like fun! We planned to do that this time when we come down, but other side trips became available to us, so we'll put it off till the next time down there. It is definitely on our TO-DO list though!
