can we drive to Xaac bay/cove?

we aren't the tour type and like to go on our own. we will be in pdc march 19-25 and are wondering if we can drive to this spot. we heard some of the boat tours take their guests snorkeling here. can anyone give directions?
i found it on my map from the map chick but can't tell if a road goes to it.

The road is closed to the public as a hotel is being built near to the cove. Pictures are posted in another thread. You can take your chances, perhaps the workers will let you walk in, or perhaps they won’t. You can walk from the Akumal side, but that hike is not for the unadventurous. The only sure fire way to get there without some hiking, wading and swimming is to go on the Fat Cat cruise.

No... I read that the insurance is too high because the tourists refuse to leave their sparkly jewelry at home causing horrific barracuda attacks.

Sorry guys but to my knowledge the workers are under strict (read very strict) instructions not to grant acess to anyone from the road!

We have the same problem up here in Boston, but those are the 2 legged variety of barracuda.

Xaac Cove

Bumping this up!

How far would you say it is from the Palladium to Xaac Cove. Would it be reasonable to say you could walk there? We fell in love with it last year on the Fat Cat and would love to go over, if possible.

My guess would be a tricky across rocks and sharp corals, about twenty mins to half an hour....

Thanks, Jez!

We took the Fat Cat tour June, 2005 and LOVED it! See you again in April!

We had a guy take us there on his boat from Akumal...about 30.00 US. It's all negotiable. If you are prone to sea sickness, take something first...you get into some deep choppy waters heading out there. We also made a stop a Yal-ku Chico.
