rain

How much rain is down in Playa? When I look at the weather channel it says it is raining. We are arriving there tomorrow afternoon. Should we bring umbrellas?

Looks clear as a bell on the webcam.

Whatever you do don't believe the weather channels, in 5 years I have never found them to be right yet. You might get a quick shower but it will feel great to get wet in the heat of the day!!!

We've never ever brought an umbrella with us or any rain gear for that matter on any visit to Playa. Am arriving Saturday afternoon for a week and should it rain per chance... you'll find me singing and dancing in the rain... probably jumping in puddles... or under a palapa having a margarita or two. Regardless, I'll no doubt be having a grand ol' time.

I agree with everyone else about not worrying about rain to much. It doesn't seem to stick around to long. The only caveat I would add to that is that last year i wish I had broght one of those tiny little umbrellas. The day we were leaving, it was pouring. It would have been nice to have had an umbrella when we were trying to get our bags from the bus to inside the airport and such. I didn't like the idea of facing a three hour flight home in a wet shirt. I sure wouldn't bring an umbrella that took up to much space though because you most likely will not need it.

There's a small band of clouds and showers moving thru, but it looks like clear sailing after that...

Last Thursday night as we were walking down 5th, the skies opened up. We tried waiting it out under the canopy of an ice cream place, but finally we ended up going next door and buying mini umbrellas. The umbrellas and rain ponchos were selling like hotcakes!

That was the only significant rain we encountered when we were there last week.

Can you buy hotcakes in PDC?

Probably, but you're probably better off using an umbrella, Steve. Hotcakes nowadays just don't shed the rain like they used to...

Seriously, it rained a bit in the early evening last week for us. I had tucked a small folding umbrella into one of our bags at the last minute, and I'm glad I did. Didn't use it for long, but it was handy to have.

ROFLMAO ....

The weather channel has been predicting rain in PDC everyday since 1965. I think it is some sort of a vendetta.

I would rather be lying on the beach at PDC in the pouring rain than tossing one more shovel full of snow. We are over 90 inches for the season where I live, and the current temperature is 11 degrees F.

All things are relative ...

We were in Playa from Feb 9-23rd and it rained twice. One day about 5 AM, and one other morning for about 5 minutes when we were at breakfast. Rain is "NO PROBLEM" in Playa
