Saw this article (pasted below, read if you wish) on the CNN website after hearing about it on the news. To me, this insinuates that the 'inequality' that is being ranted about is MY fault, in that I am a caucasian. Also disturbing are the 'recommendations' that are being sought. Lots of spending in there. If there is a "71% difference in the equality" between blacks and whites, doesn't that infer that 71% of the "cure" will be paid by white tax dollars? Hmmmm...... I am not trying to stir up a racial debate. Just seeking others opinions. Eric Holder said we are cowards for not talking about race and race related issues. I'm no coward.

Report sees 'sobering statistics' on racial inequality - CNN.com
Some snippets from the above article:
* The
Urban League's equality index shows the status of blacks at 71 percent that of whites. It said that economics "remains the area with the greatest degree of inequality," with social justice, health and education following.
* Blacks remain twice as likely to be unemployed, three times more likely to live in poverty and more than six times as likely to be imprisoned compared with whites, according to the group's annual State of Black America report issued Wednesday.
* The report lists policy recommendations in the areas of home ownership, jobs, health and education. Here is a sampling:
Increasing funding for underskilled workers' job training programs.
Funding infrastructure development
Passing a home buyers' bill of rights that would protect and educate consumers and
provide home-buying help.
Guaranteeing access to high-quality early education for 3- and 4-year-olds. (Would this not require busing in many cases?)
