Well we thought that TGIF had the best burger in town along with the best Hot Caramel Sunday and Cold AC...Thought that they had just finished the outdoor patio section of the TGIF when we were there in March...Would much rather see a DQ or a Whataburger then a BK...Would hate to see that creepy King walking around 5th...

BK, McD, et al. are in most every major US, Mexican and European town. Playa is not a sleepy fishing village anymore.
I'll take my burgas from 'burger street' locally.. but if we get 1 there, guess we'll haf 2 hijack some of playa maya's HOTT green sauce from Luis & kick the burgas up a notch or 3.
some coconut shrimp would do nicely right about now tho.

That is a funny image. Can you imagine waking up, after a hard night, and finding that in the bed next to you?

Maybe if he had the new breakfast sandwich in his hand...But then of course he would have to get out and stay out!

Although many locals may go to A Burger King or TGIF, as far as a marketing concept I don't see either one of them doing too well in a place like PDC. Maybe in a place like Can Cun where there are more college kids there, but not PDC.

Just my opinion.

Sometimes I smell the "homefries" of the restaurant next door and then I want some!!!
But I restrain myself,of course!
Talking about the smell of french fries, it seems that some of the places that I refuel my rig up have gone over to organic diesel. Organic diesel is basically refurbished cooking oil and the like.

I didn't even know that this was happening until one day when I started up my truck in the morning, and I started to smell french fries or something like that comming out of my exhaust. I thought that I was having a smell halucination or something, I couldn't figure it out. And I tell you there is nothing that wakes me up in the morning faster then the smell of french fries in the morning.

Then one day I saw a special on a news show about how many fueling comanies are switching over to organic diesel.

I agree TGIF'S is good ate there once with a mexican friend we both enjoyed it, and the waiters were pretty comical. But the best burgers have to come from the street vendors at Juarez and 10th I forget his name but he knew me. Very nice. The burgers on the corner of Juarez and 30th are good to but that guy that usually works there is a jackass. I guess he didn't realize I understood every word he was saying about me to his buddy.

Man do I miss that place. Only one or two Mexi restaurants in town now. Dad's fav was the deep fried ice cream...... Now that takes me back.

Oh and BTW we've had Hooters her for all of about 5 yrs!
I miss Chi-Chis too!

I hate the idea of Rotten Ronnies and BK in PDC.

Although I agree, 'to each his own' and all that jazz....it still looks...ugly. Too commercial. Too fake. Too fat-inducing. Too 'modern'. Too American. Too plastic.

Walking down gorgeous, natural, beachy, Fifth Avenue and seeing that...

just my opinion though, I wouldn't march against it or anything. LOL
