I hope I didn't offend anyone regarding my travel agents post as some of the most valuable information I've found online is/was from travel agents ... also, I did use a "blanket statement" which in retrospect was not the best wording I could've used.

However, from personal experience dealing with agents in my "neck of the woods", it is evident that either they are just plain ignorant to much of the info out there or they are not doing their "homework" or just ignoring the info ... from conversations I've had, it seems most are not at all informed about the locations they're selling, especially with regards to the Mayan Riviera. And from other "complaints" I've found online it's pretty obvious it's happening elsewhere.

So, are all agents like this, no ... but it's still a pet peeve of mine with regards to the ones that are, and unfortunately it is the majority of ones I've had personal dealings with.
