I think it is terribly sad, but my first thought was "why would any woman go walking alone on the beach at night?" Then my second thought is "why would her husband let her go walking alone on the beach at night?" Maybe they had a fight & she stomped off & then this unfortunate thing happened...very sad indeed.

I told hubby about this tonight, as many details as we have (which isn't many) and ya know what HE first said?
"Did anyone interview the husband...does HE have an alibi"? Now this came out of HIS mouth, I'm just telling you how my husband's mind works (and yes, it does scare me when he thinks like this ). But I never thought of that. And I suppose it could happen...if someone wanted to do away with their spouse and perhaps have an easy way out...to blame it on someone else, huh? Would make more sense that she didn't go walking around at night alone, if she was with someone she knew, whether it be her husband or not. Not that I'M thinking this way...I don't think I am anyway. Just terrible either way.

Mexican law enforcement must be very different; they put a lot of details in the newspaper that probably should not be released to the public. The only reason I think they would release those details is because they have no leads-in my humble professional opinion.
<O:p</O:pAlso, when it comes to missing people and murder investigations, the first 48 hours are the most important-that is a fact. That is why I thought the police work was kinda shoddy, but as Denisa pointed out, we do not have all of the facts. Either way, it's a very sad discussion to have. .I hope they find out what happend.<O:p</O:p |

Oh hi Marty...didn't know if it was you or Tony!
Ahhhh...my husband must be pretty sick too since like I said, that was the first thing out of his mouth, while I on the otherhand, didn't think of it at all. And this to me is strange anyway because I think of everything before he does! :p I just hope they figure out what happened. if you're reading this honey...just kidding! |

If they would have interviewed the guests, they could have determined if the couple had been fighting, etc......it was very, very crowded, a guest would surely have seen or heard something. But guess what, we (the guests) did not know ANYTHING about it. It would have been a kindness to us to let us know to be extra vigilant.....If a guest perpetrated this crime and they did not interview the guests, then the case will not ever be solved. If it was a local person, then I guess that is why there has been no further follow up.
In any event, I cringe at the thought of how it could have just as well happened to me being up before sunrise every morning on the beach and jogging through playcar for an hour before 7:00 a.m. each morning while my husband was still sleeping. I even walked through those playacar ruins early in the morning....I just can't believe what happened to that poor woman. |

I think that most people here will agree with me, but I just wanted to reinterate something.
This could happen anywhere. This doesn't indicate that PDC is any more or less dangerous than it was 10 years ago (although I suspect the latter). Is a person taking a risk walking alone at night on a deserted beach in Galveston, South Beach, Martha's Vineyard, Panama City, or Folley's Island? You bet. It is tragic but not a total and complete surprise. James A. |

EDIT: If I am reading this right, it says the police received the call that she was missing at 8:40pm. That's not exactly late. They suspended the search from 9:40-5am and found her body at 6:20am. Quote:
