"abused brutally" sounds like rape to me. That would explain why she fought so hard. I think they wanted more than just to rob her. So sad.

No, maybe the translation is bad at this point. That's not what it said. It just said that whoever did this treated her in a very brutal way. There is no indication that she has been raped or that this has been one of the goals (and when I saw the pic on the original spanish newspaper report it didn't look like that either).

This is tragic. I will never understand what would possess a person to hurt someone else yet alone brutally kill someone else.

Stop the nonsense until you know the facts
Not saying that is the case, but I still think it is something to consider. Scott Peterson wasn't fishing either.

Oh so true!!! The person closest to you is always under scrutiny in a situation such as this. As well they should be!

You are welcome, although it was my software that did it (hence the odd mistakes!!)!

A point to note is that on Saturdays a lot of the local workers get very drunk as it's pay day and this tourist was attacked at the weekend. They show women little respect when they are unaccompanied. My wife (who's Mexican) has always been advised to avoid building sites and where the workers drink.

My personal opinion after reading the article in germany and in mexico. I think it was the husband the wife left to go for a walk on the beach at 2 but ended up by the road, something doesn't quite add up with that story. because to go off into the bush that far and get near the road from the beach its a bit of a long shot in the dense bush.

Can anyone say CSI: Playacar? With Andy Garcia as the brooding lead investigator.

As we're in Mexico, I think Zorro would be the better choice - perhaps he could start a new police academy.

Thanks, Fernanda! Cute new avatar!

With little to no details, it is hard to draw any kind of opinion on the murderer (for me). It does seem like an easy way for a someone to get rid of their spouse and I hope the other Scott Petersons don't get the idea. I am actually impressed that the cops found her body as quickly as they did. There are so many areas of thick trees, swamps, etc. that it seems someone could dispose of a body and it never be found.

Wish there was more info. I'm always interested in stuff like this. Cops is my favorite TV show.

We can surmize what we want...Let's face facts...Uh....there are very few....Until someone comes through with what really happened, I think we just have to take this as something we all want not to encounter...It will happen wherever you go, and we just have to hope it is not something that happens to us. This happens everywhere people, even in a place like PDC.
