Inexpensive rooms?

Hi, new here - used to frequent PDC a lot in the 90's, understand it's changed quite a bit. Need recommendations for an inexpensive room, probably harder to find than they used to be. A single guy, don't need advance reservations, resorts, pools or AC - just a clean bed, shower and ceiling fan. Can anyone recommend simple cheap digs? THX!

The first thing I would do is to get a can-do map (google it) of PDC and look to the smaller hotels closer to the highway.

Start by looking at the hotels available right here through Playa.Info under the trip planning tab (located at top of page). Also use the search tool (located in horizontal bar at top of page)... type in the words "cheap hotels". Inexpensive is very subjective... and means different things to each person. If you give us the $/night you're looking to spend we'll be able to provide you with more specific info.

THX - the hotels listed here are not what I'm looking for. A bed and access to a bath. Short $$ - I sleep there, that is about it - There used to be lots like that but from what I understand there is is much less now.

Give us an idea of $/night. Without that info no one can really recommend any place.

Hotel Eclipse, Rosa Mirador, Seista Fiesta, Maya Bric or El Elephante are a few that come to mind. They should be under $50.00 a night. Was in Playa a week ago and most hotels have vacancy signs. So finding a room shouldn't be a problem.

There is a hotel by the dive shop I use that you can get room with shared bathroom, no t.v., a/c, but has ceiling fan although there is a pool for about 20.00 per night. try casatucan.com I think

Dos Hermanos, Avenida 30 between 2nd and 4th. Clean room, private bath, hot water, fan. Noisy, but only 120 pesos single.
