A Huge Problem
Okay... I have a huge problem. I am getting married on July 9. I have made arrrangements for the honeymoon to depart on July 11. We are spending the first 6 nights in Cancun, then heading out to Playa del Carmen for the last 6 nights.
The problem? Everytime I sit down to try to plan the finer details about my wedding I get distracted by the honeymoon! The honeymoon is all planned, but the wedding needs some serious work. I think I am going to have to put a block on my computer to prevent me from checking this forum every two hours and daydreaming! I am so not a bride. I am living for the honeymoon. <sigh> |

Congrats Chatbug!
Funny, my wedding date is July 9th, and we leave the 11th too! We will be in playa (Secrets Capri) for 12 glorious days. Every morning I watch the beachcam with my coffee, instead of doing the millions of wedding-y things left to do. This site is great, but it's taking up all my time! Amy |

Cancell every service and put that money on plane tickets for those requiered to be at the ceremony (MAs and Pas, maybe the favourite bro/sis), but only One-Way tickets, let them figure how to get out by themselves (if they will ever want to get out). Once you reach the beach, get a judge to marry you on the spot at sunset (so everybody has to wear a swimsuit instead of expensive dresses/suits), have a Taco al Pastor place do the afterwed dinning (also on the spot) and everybody will be more than happy. Have the cook prepare in advance a 30 tacos package for you two and dissapear in the middle of the night while all the guest fight to get in the line for the tacos (I'm 100% sure it will work). |

weddings...
I hate that people think they can decide things about YOUR wedding! When my husband and I got married, we wanted something very simple, maybe even just something outside in a flower garden or my mother's back yard. We also couldn't get the guest list down to something small, so we decided to just have our immediate family there. My mother in law was devastated. She couldn't imagine leaving out this person or that person, most of which hadn't seen my husband in years. We did get married in her church to make her happy, but everything else was our decision. I couldn't believe how much flack we took from everyone, even our friends. Getting married is a very intimate personal thing and I think everyone should do it however they want to!
The things in life that seem to generate the most unwelcome unsolicited advice are weddings, buying a house, and having a baby. |

I also have that problem! I am getting married on 8-13 and have a million things to do still, but all I can think of is Playa and all the things that we are going to to! (especially Fat Cat!) and I am becoming very addicted to this forum and reading everything that I canI wanted to have a destination wedding, but most of the people that we really wanted there were not going to be able to come, now I wish I would have said to heck with them and did anyway!
Hope you have a wonderfull time, I know I will Jillian |

Bumper,
TOO Cute! ChatBug, It will all come together, it always does. All the stress, leave it in the States, and when arriving in Playa, get on Mexican time. It will be the best stress reliever you can ever have. Enjoy!

It is amazing how much of a roll our families can play in the planning of your wedding. We had a small ceremony in my inlaws backyard. Invited family and OUR close friends. Then we ran off to Playa a several months later for our honeymoon.
We managed to plan ours in about 8 weeks (no she wasn't pregnant). So you still have plenty of time
