What I'm gonna do is put out the necklaces with a contribution container asking for $3 each. Then at the end of the evening (or whenever they sell out - I hope!), I'll count up the take and write out a check for the Autism Foundation (you can tell me how to make it out) and give it to you. Knowing this is what I had in the back of my mind made making the necklaces even more fun!! Can't wait to meetchya!! And yes, the weather forecast certainly looks like it'll be smilin' on Gail and Mike's place on Saturday! |

Greatly appreciated!!! Zach's very lucky to have such caring people around him. He also shares the love for Playa just like the rest of us.
Someday there will be a cure for autism. It may not help my child but it will help others--and knowing that I helped raise awareness and funds for research is all that matters to me. We are very lucky with what has been handed to us as far as the disorder goes. But some aren't so fortunate. He's a great kid!!! We may bring him with us on Saturday so he can personally thank you!!!! I've started my new job so Im extremely exhausted and am looking forward to a few drinks in good company. I'll need it by then. My first real shift is Friday night in the ER--what a night to start with. And our trip countdown is getting closer!! |

Good for you! Every bit of awareness helps. My son is also autistic. As a matter of fact we had a layover in New Orleans on our way to Disney and the airline rep came over jst as we sat down at the terminal. Michael was making his "cold" noises, so I was digging out the blanket we carry in airports (why are airports always either freezing or steamy?). The rep said she was going to take care of our pre-boards (we hadn't even asked for them yet) and then she showed me her bracelet and asked if I had one. No, I didn't... so she took hers off and gave it to me, saying she had an autistic son as well. It's one of the blue stretch (Lance Armstrong type) bracelet that says "Embrace, Engage, Enable, Expand, Express" on it. I thought that was so nice of her... she didn't know me from Adam! |

That was very nice of the rep. We are folks that just kind of stick out amongst each other. Maybe someday we'll meet up.
Keep the faith, chin up and go forward. My blue bracelet just has puzzle pieces also have the car magnet. Thank you for sharing!!!!! Wish you were close enough to attend the big happenings on Saturday. Take Care! Give your son a hug. |

Let us know if you need anything else...Let me carry things just a little further now... If anyone would like to meet up again on Sunday before parting ways (and we're hoping that Gail & Mike can stop by too before dashing off to their other party), we thought that the perfect spot would be the upper deck at Michael's Harborside, right down the road in Newburyport. We can vouch for their bloody marys and fish chowder. http://www.michaelsharborside.com/ (And of course if there's any other New Englanders who have said they couldn't make it to the pig roast Saturday but might have a chance to come out Sunday otherwise, we'd love to see you too!)And, of course, anyone up earlier and wanting coffee & breakfast- we'll see you next door to Softy's at Marie's! |

Probably on the early side, depending on when anyone staying over is heading out. I'll want to see if Gail might be able to swing it as she needs to head out of town. So probably early afternoon- I think they open at 11:30. It's a pretty spot- great view- would be nice to at least soak it in for a short while with a bloody mary....

Can't wait you guys!!There is no way we can join you in NBP. as we need to be in Saugus Ma. before 1:00 P.M.
However, will probably drag my sorry butt out of bed by 8:45 or 9:00 am, & head to Maries for brkfst. We will be on the road by noon. So sorry it turned out this way,but Kate had forgotton the date of the Fiesta. May get a shower late Sat,but we have a 20 by 20 tent to put stuff under and a large bld. and my son Russ has a large L.R. bar, dining area, about 22ft. by 30 ft. so we'll be O.K.Sprayed for skeeters yesterday & it did wonders till the thunder shower last night, when rain poured down like a waterfall! Will repeat that spraying tomorrow, finish the salads and stuff the peppers. Look for the red, green & white balloons on the boat & trailer a friend has stored in our front yard. You won't be able to miss us!
