New Peeplet from Texas

Been lurking for awhile. First trip to PDC arriving on 5/8. I have been lurking long enough to know not to ask what the weather will be like! Thanks to all of you, we can't wait to get there! One more Texan for the boards.

Welcome !

Get plenty of ink for the printer...and use the printr friendly versions to print out the pages and threads with the info you see that you might need.

It's under the thread tools options...

Well it's a shame that it isn't the great drinks that I have heard that I am in store for, but, what the heck, it's what I have here! Will be staying at an AI - the RH - since it is the first time, but since have learned that may not be the best way to go. Hopefully this won't be the last time though! Maybe if I had read this forum first I wouldn't have gone that way. But at least I have a mapchick map!

The debate rages on, and always will, but there's nothing inherently wrong with AI's, especially for an initial visit. They give you a real comfortable base to operate from your first time out, while you get a feeling for Playa for future visits. And those future visits are almost certain to take place, as Playa is really quite habit forming.

And welcome to the forum. It's something else that's habit forming.

AI is not bad for the first time then the exploration mode will kick in next time and you will spend many hours on this site and the info gang will be a big help. Welcome and have fun in Playa.

Thanks for the welcome. I have already become addicted to this site and have learned so much. We will definitely be spending time in town exploring and people watching. The AI does seem like the way to go to get acquainted - after that, we'll see. There are so many wonderful hotels and eating places that I have heard about from you all. I just can't wait to get there!

Either way, when you return from your first visit to Playa, you'll have to start planning a trip in late Feb/early March '06 to join all the lunatics for Peep Fest!!

Thanks for the welcome. There are a lot of Texans for a reason - no beach here!

I sure do wish we were going to be there for that but leaving right before but I am definitely going to propose that we go in February. This trip is actually our honeymoon but we have to get back for kid's finals - to make sure they actually go and take them!

AI is a good plan for a first timer. From there, you can take a good look around and decide where to stay for PEEP FEST 2006.
