Youre probably referring to the Columbia River Gorge. It is the border between Washington and Oregon.

Yo, Donna!
You was in E. Washington in a town called George (yeah, that's right, George, Washington). It is on the Columbia River and near (75 miles) from Grand Coulee area. No better place to see a concert than the Gorge! We go at least once a year. Looking fer you and Sunseekers to come this way sometime. Be happy to show ya some hospitality our way!

Hey, Banzoomba. Yeah, That was me. Video of a whale breeching!

I don't remember what we talked about in PDC, but I think you were either upriver at Crescent Bar or across the river from the gorge at Vantage. Send me another hint ......

We usually spend at least a week or two in the Okanagan of BC, beautiful wine country and home of vineyards and fruit tree groves and wonderful warm lakes.

We also do weekend camping trips to local lakes with the seadoos.

This summer we have also planned a family trip San Fran to visit with our friends the infamous Michael and Rosa, we'll drive down which will only take us about a day and a half, and may do some camping and sea-dooing with them.

Then there's also the toobin' in Texas as well as that...

We just bought a new Lund boat, so we will be doing a lot of fishing and tubing and maybe even some wakeboarding this summer! There are tons of lakes and pine forests in northern Saskatchewan, a couple-few hours from here.

We get two weeks in early August off as well, and we are going to go to either Riding Mountain Nat'l Park in Bumper's home province, or just travel around camping at different lakes closer to home.

Late Winter, early Spring. - We have a favorite spot we camp in the California desert, about 20 miles from the nearest deserted town. It's a place known for trilobite fossils.

Summer - Camping in the Sierras. We have a new favorite spot about 1.5 hours down a 4-wheel drive dirt road, above the Kern River. Actually a very nice National Forest campground with about 40 spots, but usually only about 5 to 10 spots used. Fishing in the local streams.

We will do some walleye fishing in Michigan. Don't have to worry about finding a lake, there are plenty. We have a nice boat, so we will be doing some boating. Take a couple trips to the Traverse City area, one of my favorite places.

Everyone's llitte spots sound so nice, there really are some beautiful places in this country and Canada. I have always wanted to go to Banff, someday.

So many great ideas on this thread. I know that I often take the U.S. for granted and there is so much to see and so much to do here.

Depends on what part of Wa, some call the Columbia River in central Wa. "the gorge" others call the Columbia River between Or. & Wa. "the gorge"

I think this is very true, we seem to think that if we don't leave the country it's not a vacation, there's alot I haven't seen but sure hope to before they throw dirt in my face. We live in one of the most beautifull spots in Wa state but can't see the forest for the trees. We plan on traveling through the south when we retire maybe spend 6-8 months doing it not comming home till we've seen it all

For those of you that have never been to Washington, the east side of the state is pretty barren and very dry & hot in the summer! The lake is surrounded by basalt cliffs and is very beautiful, in a raw, natural sort of way.
My favorite activity is:
take the boat out to a beautiful location on the lake, crack a cold one, when I get hot I roll off the boat into the water. Once cooled off, I get back into the boat and "repeat as necessary"!
Fishings good too if you get there when there aren't any derbys going on

I fish there as well. Toss a line out whenever we're not skiing. Caught many catfish and many 5 - 10 pound carp. Caught my 1st Walleye last year, a whopping 12 incher! I fish all over Wa. State, but am mainly a Salmon, Steelhead and Trout kinda guy. Someone once asked me what I was fishin' for. My standard reply is, "Whatever bites the hook!"
