List of restaurants -- what's open for dinner?
Counting down!!!
I have my printout ready, but wondered if anyone could clarify if these places are open for both lunch and dinner, or not (not lazy, just don't want to waste a walk in the heat!) -- Makech HC Carnes H & M Butcher Shop El Cuerno de Oro Las Cacerolas La Casita de Guisos Also, did anyone ever determine if La Adelita is still open for business? Thanks! |

One thing I can tell you is that La Casita de Guisos has very limited hours. I am pretty certain they are not open for dinner, ever, and you'll probably just find them open for a few hours midday. I tried to go there once about 4pm, and it looked like it never HAD been open! Good luck and enjoy all those yummy places!

Neither my husband nor I "got" the shrimp taco cult, but their other seafood dishes were very good, and generously portioned. |

Guess we're just a voice in the wilderness, but we ate at El Oasis last month, and were pretty thoroughly underwhelmed. We'd eaten there in previous years, but this was our first exposure to their newest incarnation. We don't do shrimp tacos - Mrs. B is allergic - but found the other food to be ordinary at best. Beer was warm. Their new chairs are damned uncomfortable - a minor issue. Prices were nothing special. The service was lousy, featuring inattentive, disinterested waiters. Maybe we hit them on a bad evening, but based on our experience, we won't be going back. There's too many good eateries in Playa to be bothered with any place marginal.

why don't you just go to wherever happens to be open at an hour of your choice and ask for two of everything you've chosen? It saves one walk there and back... |

Last night I went to dinner at La Cueva del Chango, my mom is visiting and I wanted to impress her, she was impressed allright! It was soooooo goooooood
Jan had enchiladas they were not in the dinner menu but the chef was happy to accomodate the hungry monster ![]() My mom had filete de pescado al cilantro that is grouper with a coleander lime sauce, ![]() I had same fresh catch of the day with tamarind chili sauce mmmmmmm ![]() We had a merengue lime pie for dessert because Im on a diet and the waitress said it had no calories I spoke with the chef Nestzayir, he studied in Spain and France in the Cordon Bleu and the El Bulli, impressive curriculum I asked him to marry me but he is married to the pastry chef who was responsible for that mean lime merengue pie! |
