FireFox
I have been using Firefox for about a month now and have found a few quirks with it and wanted to compare notes with the rest of you. For instance I have phantom tabs that open up on there own while browsing websites (this one included) I also have trouble doing copy/paste with FF. Has anyone else discovered "undocumented features"
with Firefox?

I use Firefox, and yesterday infact, I lost all of my bookmarks. All of 'em.
And I used to have the latest headlines on my nav bar, but those left when I installed the newer version about a month ago. Evenstill, Firefox > IE. |

for the tabs, check your advanced options under the tabbed browsing heading. There's something about: "open links from other applications in:" Maybe you have that set to a new tab in the current window, which might explain what you describe. |

I have a ftp site that I use that doesn't work with Firefox. That forces me to use IE. I have another site that i use for my electronic timecard at work that refuses to allow me to access using Firefox. That drives me crazy having to switch between browsers.

You never realize how much you use something until it's gone. My phone wacked out last week and i lost all of my phone numbers and after using the index on the phone so long, I don't know any of the phone numbers that I need daily. Technology is melting my brain!!!

I have been noticing the difficulty with the cut/paste function. And I cannot get smiley's into posts from firefox (I use cut & past from smiley central). I've also had it just quit for no apparent reason. I do like it alot though because of the tabbed browsing and I've not had any trouble with that function.

Beachnutt719, I have found that if you go where you want to paste and then click on edit/past at the top of the window it will work. Right mouse click paste does not work for me. Supposidly mozilla says that you can edit a configuration file to make that work but the do not give any syntax or show where the file resides so I have not been able to figure that out yet. Oh well what do you want for nothing?

I have been using FireFox since the first beta...the beta had problems but I have found the 1.0 and up to be pretty solid. Yes, some pages with XML and active script wont work with FireFox, but the majority of the time I don't go anywhere that has such specific demands. FireFox was originally such a popular alternative for the lack of security problems...now however, that it’s becoming so widely used, there are people starting to find exploits in the code, and there have already been a number of security updates. The only thing I find annoying about Firefox is the loading time it much longer than for IE, but the features more than make up for the wait.
