The past two years I have put information about the Vision Walk in my sig. Over the past year, several playa.info peeps have started topics about their teams in various walk or bicycling fundraising efforts, so I decided I would also.
Many of you know that Kathy has retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic, degenerative retinal disoder leading to blindness. The website for the
Foundation Fighting Blindness is here, if you want to read more about the research and activities they are funding. Kathy vision continues to slowly get worse, and that will continue unless the research turns up some meaningful treatments or cure. Work is being done on treatments that might slow the progress of the disease, and there are some gene therapy clinical trials going on.
Portland's walk is going to be on September 19. We would be pleased and grateful if any of you wants to participate by joining us for the walk or by contributing to Kathy's Krewe
