Heat and humidity in late June compared to Hilton Head?
Can someone compare the heat and humidity to Hilton Head in late June? Is it worse? In Hilton Head it gets in the mid to high 90's and very humid but tolerable, especially by the beach. Thanks for any info!!

In playa it gets in the mid to high 90's and very humid but tolerable if you are used to that sort of thing...not so tolerable if you are not used to that sort of thing. But there is an ocean breeze, water and cold cervezas to ease the pain. Go to "read more" tab above and read about the weather. |

Pam's mom and dad usually always go to Hilton Head Island during the June - July time of year. They live in Statesboro, Ga which is only about an hour away. So Pam and I and our two boys usually spend a couple of days with them there.
The heat and humidity are really about the same. Although, when we were in Playa last year in early June, I really did not think the humidity was all that bad. Some differences that I see are: In HHI you can walk out into the water a good ways with it not getting to deep on you. You will not find a reef offshore and the water is poor for visibility. In HHI you can burn your feet while walking on the sand and can cut your feet on those broken shells on the beach. Especially if you are playing a game of wiffle ball. It is harder to ride a bike on the beaches in the Riviera Maya and therefore you will not get ran over by those hundreds that rent those bikes and ride on the beach at HHI. HHI does have those really pretty Oak trees with the Spanish moss in them, tons of golf courses and some really good seafood restaurants. Last edited by Kevin y Pam : 04-18-2005 at 08:40 PM. |
