Okay, I did my search and checked out the related posts, but most of them were pretty old. Does anyone have any recent experience with using your SPRINT phone in Playa. I signed up for the international roaming ( at a cost of $4.00 per month) and was told it was $.70 per minute. They also said as long as phone was GPS enabled it should work fine.

Rented last year from cancun valet, used the phone a total of maybe 3 minutes all week and it cost me $110.00. Figured either way this is a whole lot cheaper.
I just need some assurance that it will actually work.
Leaving kid and elderly parents at home and I don't want an emergency message sitting at hotel desk while we are off all day somewhere.

Told the Sprint rep I would be calling her collect from Mexico if it doesn't.
