HELP Fat Cat sailing pick-up

I managed to book a last minute sail with the above, whose rep said to meet at 1350 at the Porto Real hotel. I canīt find it on mapchickīs map (therefore, of course, it doesnīt exist). But, there is a new hotel, the Royal Puerto Real. Anybody know if this is it, or if there might be another likely candidate? Thanks, guys

It's the same as the Gran Porto Real which IS on Mapchick's map (same thing happened to me). If memory serves, it's located at the beach end of Constituentes. Facing the beach, it's on the right. Make sure you wait in front of the main lobby entrance, not in front of the restaurant area (it's about 1/2 way down from the start of the main building).

You would not believe!!! I didn't get to go! Went to the Porto Real, which is exactly what the guy, whose name starts with an M, said was the hotel name. They never did show up, and I saw thier van heading up constituentes at about 2. They sent me an email saying they waited 10 min. Duh!!! I don't know where they were waiting, but I did send them a note saying they better be a little more clear in future with aliens such as myself. They asked me if I wanted to rebook, and I said, "yes, pick me up in Harper, Kansas tomorrow at 1:50". Anyway, it saved me $74, but I did want to sail--never been on a cat. Instead, I went to playainfo to pick a spot for lunch and ended up at Dr Taco. OMG!! Why did I have to find this place on my last day. Better than Oasis! I love the salsa bar. 3 shrimp tacos, 2 coronas, tip-- $6. Next trip I'll try booking in advance here.

Aw, shucks!!! Sorry you missed it!!

When we were on the Tulum tour on Tuesday, I asked Mitch about whether there were a "Gran Porto Real" AND a "Porto Real", and he said they were one and the same hotel.

Did you go down Constituentes toward the beach and wait in front of the hotel lobby on the right???

Gran Porto Real is on the left as you face the beach. Royal Porto Real is on the left. There is the Porto Real which is a third hotel somewhere in town.

yes, they must have meant the Royal Puerto Real. They need to give the whole name, or change to something like Playa Maya, lol

Oh, my!! I hope I wasn't the reason you missed the Fat Cat van, skipaway!!! When I saw the two names and asked Mitch about it, those were the instructions he gave me: the hotel on the right which is where we waited (along with MN Annie and her group and Trish and her son Brent), and that's exactly where the Fat Cat van came to pick us up.

Uh, well, actually the Gran Porto Real is on the right as you face the beach, which is to say that it's on the south side of the street there. The Royal Porto Real is on the left as you face the beach, on the north side of the street.

Not to worry nerak, no big deal. I was at the Porto Real, at the lobby. Just a minor bit of confusion, not a major disappointment. It was just make a decision on which hotel, and go for it. Had I planned ahead, I would have realized my confused state as soon as I looked at mapchick's map, and resolved it by phone or email. By the time I realized the dilemma, no one was home at fatcat. I mean, how bad can it be to be stuck for the afternoon in Playa, condemned to eating, drinking, walking the beach?????

So true Steve. I have absolutely no sense of direction. And positively don't ask me if it is North or South of anything. I'm always bassackwards!!

We were picked up at main entrance to GPR. Maybe you could PM JEZ for confirmation on that?
