What was the strangest item you saw--

taken on the plane?
On American web site luggage requirements:

Antlers Must be as free of residue as possible. The skull must be wrapped and tips protected. $80 100 lbs
115 linear inches - Acceptance conditional on aircraft size and load conditions
-
Never thought to travel with them.

I'm surprised they let you take a pointy object like antlers on a plane? A moose or and elk could be a dangerous thing in the hands of a terrorist. I'd like to see the TV movie they make about that highjacking. Wonder if Santa faces these kinds of restrictions?

Yeah, I just use shotgun shells to cover the tips of my carribou antlers when I travel via plane.

I take mine all over the U.S. $60-75 ea. depending on the carrier. Birds; dead, frozen, & packed as baggage---free. Life is good

I met a Martial Arts instructor about 38 year's old who carried on his hardwood cane during a flight last month. They did x-ray it though.

No, he doesn't require the cane to walk, it is a weapon that he teaches in his classes.

Not nearly as interesting as antlers though!

We took an electric meat slicer on a plane a few years back.
I also brought home a muffaletta from New Orleans.... you could smell it on the entire plane.
BTW... I got my lighters through security in my purse last week.

When leaving Mexico in '01 (very detailed searches afte 9-11) the couple ahead of us were getting their bags inspected, and they had 15-18 of those hand carved wooden "male genitalia" ornaments/pipes. Security was putting all of them on the table, they're all looking at each other, shocked at how many they had, smirking the whole time.

The couple was obviously embarassed, and everyone around us seemed to notice the "party pack" scattered on the table.

Very strange indeed!!!

Wedding guest gifts maybe?

John and I have joked that we would have loved to have done that at our wedding....bought a bunch of those small figurines and put them at each place setting instead of the typical mints or matches or whatever, and watch the looks on peoples faces..haha!

One of my girlfriends put her "toy" in her carry on just in case the check in got lost. They searched her bag, placed it up on the counter and it just kinda leaned to one side. ILMAO. I think it was a lefty

I told her if she would just stick with Rosie and the five sisters no one would have been the wiser. Geeze! That's what I did and no one noticed my toy.
