SCR - you didn't have to look far for adventure on day 4 -- it seemed to find you no matter what you did! I'm not so sure I would have been able to get out of the water if I saw a shark --- I think I would have had cardiac arrest right at that spot! Great trip reports!

Oh, Shawn, you are cracking me up. Love the walking into the sign bit. That is just like something I would do! :p Actually I did walk into a pole once, when I was talking to a guy.
I couldn't believe he didn't warn me though...'HELLLLOOO, YOU ARE ABOUT TO WALK INTO A POLE' That's all he had to say.

Now I realize it’s only about <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Minute="0" Hour="8">8 am</st1:time>, but I didn’t bring a watch so…ppfftt, I opened a beer.
Hehehehe...I never bring a watch on vacation either. |

Continued...
Ferry ride home was uneventful however when I was sitting out on the open seating part upstairs, the sun was so hot by this time I felt my toes bubbling as they were not covered completely by my sandals. So I had to put my pack on feet for the ride back. And no, I didn’t know that behind the tinted widows and door you could actually have a beer until the ride back. Duh! Anyways got back to PDC and went to my room to put my stuff away. Then I headed over to the Pirate beach club to chill out and people watch…and tell my shark story to anyone who was interested. Once again my waiter, Armado runs over and give me the “handshake” and scores me a chair beside Big Joe, “Tulum” and another peep I met, Mike the travel agent (very passionate about PDC). So were chilling and laughing and the three of them invite me to join them at this Mamita beach club I’ve been hearing so much about. There was a popular Latin band scheduled that afternoon-6ish I think. Naturally I accept. We walk down the beach (that was cool – got to see some of the beach hotel and bars from the ocean/sea) to the club. Very nice. There were a lot of peeps there. Palapas all over. And they had these swinging beds that looked really comfortable. So we find four chairs, scoop some cold beer, and chill out. A little later on they started picking up the chairs because the band was soon to start. And since I had no “pull” here, I had to give it up right away. No problemo. <O:p></O:p> The band was a little late in getting started but when it did, it was great! We checked it out for awhile and then decided to get back and clean up for dinner. (looked around a bit for A’ndrea and Phyllis but didn’t see them). When we got back to the Pirate beach club, I told the folks I was with that there was a party at the BB and that I might see them there later. I headed back to my room and got cleaned up and headed out for diner. <O:p></O:p> For the life of me, I can’t remember where I ate. But it was around <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Hour="8" Minute="0">8ish</st1:time> or so when I arrived at the “Bucket”. Wow. Met a whole bunch of peeps (thanks to A’ndrea and Phyllis). I met the owner of the bar, Sharky, what a character! Let’s see, oh yeah, I met the “Hammer”. I wouldn’t want a backhander from this dude. I think I’d be packing a lunch for that trip. Super great guy. Met a couple of developers, real estate agents and a slew of divers. I really enjoyed this place. Great job on the party A’ndrea! Gosh, if I met you and don’t mention it, please forgive me. With all the excitement…and beer, I’m sure you’ll understand. A little side note. I couldn’t believe how many people I met who had come on vacation here, and tore up their return ticket! And I enjoyed every one of their stories! (everyone has a story). Anyways Tulum (my fellow Canuck) shows up and we end up talking and laughing for the better part of the night. Oh get this. It wasn’t until this night I realize there’s an upstairs to the place. Very cool up there. we hung out up top for a while and then ended up heading down to the Pirate beach club (I didn’t know this was open late) to finish off the night with one last cerveza there. EDITED: I forgot to add while i was upatirs talking with Tulum, Big Joe showed up and brought us some kickass pizza from Pizza Pizzaz with fresh shrimp on it. Yummmm. Hit the spot perfectly. Thanks Joe!! <O:p></O:p> -Shawn<O:p></O:p> <O:p></O:p> <O:p></O:p> Last edited by SCR; 04-26-2005 at 12:09 PM.. |

Walking into things seems to be common. I was on a bracelet hunt and in a hurry. My husband waited for me as hurridly walked into a shop. The clerk was cleaning the door. Cruised thru quickly and yup...smacked right into the door. Full speed! There was a lady outside sitting on a bench and she says... ARE YOU ALRIGHT? Of course DH is laughing. Boy am I glad I didnt break the glass!
Waiting for day 5! |
