When I was there in March, the beach was "ok". By this I mean that there was some erosion, but not nearly the level of erosion of the Occidental Allegro Playacar down the road. The beach could be better now. In terms of what buildings for the rooms to stay in, I would recommend staying in ones that are on the north end of the property (as opposed to the south end). The buildings along the south end are close to the new construction. We stayed close to the construction, and at some times it was annoying, however, you kind of get used to it. I would recommend staying in one of the buildings on the north side of the resort.
