I'll be ready

Last year I fell in love with Clearwater Beach, Florida. Seems as though every year I go on vacation and come back checking the MLS for available properties. LOL. I guess that's why we travel, right?

From what I've been reading all through this DB, Playa sure sounds (and looks) like a beautiful place! I can't wait to get there. Ever stayed at the Riu Palace? That's where we're heading in July.

I've only been to the Hideaway and Secrets Capri. Secrets was very nice but my preference is still for RH. The Riu sounds like a very nice property also.

Secrets Capri was on our short list. Maybe next time.

TBS: Welcome to the loonie bin!! A smart azz remark inserted here and there is always appreciated, so post away!! Also... the Off-Topics section can be a lot of fun, and since it's 75% not Playa-related, you'll probably find lots of opportunities!

Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals!! When David and I stay at the Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan, we are often asked if we're honeymooners. Since we've been engaged since 2002 and have a tenative wedding date for sometime in 2025 (if then! ), we simply say that "Yes, we love to take honeymoons... we just don't bother with that wedding part beforehand!!"

I've also become accustomed to the staff referring to David as my husband or me as his wife. We just laugh and let it go!

Sorry for the delay in replying...

The poor air quality combined with the altitude in Mexico City is hard work. Whenever I visit the Seņoras family there I have to take hay fever pills to reduce the symptoms of sore eyes, running nose, blood inside the nose and sneezing. It gets worse the longer I stay and the more irritable I get too, which is saying a lot as I'm normally an example of British cool. There always the taste of dust and exhaust fumes in the air too. And yet it is improving from my trip last month compared to when I went 4 years ago.

However it does take my mind off the bad drivers!

We're actually getting married here in Toronto at a golf course called Royal Ashburn. We're taking off to Playa the following day. Since booking I've completely lost interest in the wedding (not the marriage) and have tunnel vision for the honeymoon. I need a vacation sooooooooo bad and I can't wait to put my feet in the sand, a cold one in one hand, and my beautiful bride in the other. It's gonna be great!
