Hi Lisa
I have sent you a private message. The documentation was easy once I found out what I was doing. Yes we had to do this ourselves. If you and your fiance take your birth certificates to a solicitor along with your passports and another proof ID. They will photocopy your birth certificates and write on the copy that you are the person you say you are. They stamp and then sign it. Make sure they sign it as there own name not the company name or you will have problems at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office later on. I think it was around £8 per document. You now have to send off these copies (cannot remember what else) to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. If you find there website it tells you what else you need to send with it. They are apostilled which means a special sticker that is stamped will be stuck on the back of each one and returned to you. This is what is needed in order for you to get married. Again there is a charge but cannot remember. Hope this helps. I will eventually get down to doing the trip report and down sizing our pics so that you can view them. It is very hard getting back into the swing of things!! Reality hey! Tina x :p |
