e-mail confimations/RCB

I saw (using the happy search function) that getting resorts to reply to emails about room confirmations/numbers can be a little spotty. We're staying at Reef Coco Beach next month and I was wondering if anyone has had experience confirming directly with them?

Hotels do take room "requests" but none of these requests would ever include a "confirmation" or an actual room number, and you may not even get a response at all. All requests are based upon availability at the time of check in, and while they will certainly make note of what you'd like, but won't guarantee that they will be able accommodate you.
