Wedding Disappointment
Hi All
We are due to be married at the IB Tucan in May 2006. we had our rooms held by our holiday company and when I called yesterday to pay the deposit they didn't have enough rooms and couldn't get any more for the dates we want. They only had 5 left and we need about 15. They could let us have the rooms but for an extra £250 per person!! So.... we've booked the Iberostar Paraiso instead. Anyone know much about this hotel? |

Stacey, first off, sorry to hear about your bad luck with IB Tucan. As for the Del Mar, I believe it is the one right next to the Lindo - and if so, you have nothing to worry about. My wife and I had our honeymoon a year ago (this week) at the Lindo and while there we had a chance to look around at the Del Mar. Both resorts are absolutely stunning - beautiful atmosphere, great service, fantastic beach, and one of the best pools all-round. I also found the food really good, especially having the flexibility to decide over the buffets or air-conditioned a la carte restaurants. Have fun, and all the best to you and your husband on the big day.

Stacey: First of all Congratulations. I have to preface that I have not been to either but have researched this extensively. I think you are going to be very happy with either the Del Mar or the Beach. We are going to the Lindo in June. The Lindo is next to the Del Mar and Beach. Along with the Maya makes a huge resort. When we booked our trip we originally booked the Tucan. Then after reading reviews I found that most of the restaurants and the lobby at the Tucan did not have A/C. I just could not see my son and husband dressing in long pants in June to eat in an open air restuarant. The heat and humidity would be horrendous. So, I changed to the Lindo which has AC. Every review I read is extremely positive. Both places are run by Iberostar which is a plus. The positives for the Tucan are definitley closer to town and smaller. Good luck.

In my opinion it is the best resort in the area. Check out my review with pics here http://www.playadelcarmeninfo.com/pl...ight=streckman |
