Pelicano Inn or La Tortuga?
Any imput on these hotels? The rooms at La Tortuga look great but I'm not sure about the rooms at Pelicano. We want a nice room and good/friendly service. We also want a smaller hotel that has beach access or is right on the beach.
I would appreciate any information on these hotels or others like them. Thanks!! |

pelicano vs. tortuga
i've never stayed at the pelicano, so i can't say much about that one.
as for the tortuga, i've visited it before, although never stayed. after much searching though, we decided to stay there at the end of this month when we go down to PDC. when we visited, the hotel was beautiful, the service was very friendly. 8) |

We stayed at La Tortuga Friday night. We needed to be in Playa one night before returning home, and our condo is rented for a year, so we decided on La Tortuga.
We looked at a couple different rooms and gave preference to the standard plus on the 3rd floor of the new section for $750 pesos. It had a king size bed, a large shower(room enough for two people!), lots of water pressure and hot water, good airconditioning, cable TV, and a lovely balcony with a view of the unique swimming pool in a jungle setting. In the evening, after dinner we used the pool, and other people were playing billiards, nearby while others were eating in the restaurant. The next morning we had the included breakfast, which was very good. My only minor disappointment was that they don't supply bottled water. You have to buy it out of the mini-fridge. So we went out and bought a liter for the price of one of their small bottles. |
