All inclusive, 5-star, ? Royal Hideaway. (newbie)
Hello, everyone. I've been lurking for some time now - this is my first post.
My wife and I are looking to stay at an adults only AI in or around PDC 6/18 - 6/26. She is really into the "5-star" type place (for various reasons) and I like the idea, as well. Based on the reading I have done in this forum, Royal Hideaway sounds life it might fit the bill. I have big concerns about the beach - I have heard several posters talking about the erosion problem. It sounds inconclusive to me as to whether or not they have begun any dredge work to revitalize the sand. On the other hand, how much beach do you really need? I was thinking of calling them directly, but I am not sure how honest an answer I would get. Would any of you agree that the RH is the place to stay, or strongly recomend somewhere else? Other things that look good to me about the RH are the good food, sailing / windsurfing included, good service. However, we would certainly entertain other options in this category. This forum is obviously an excellent resource and I appreciate any responses! |

It really depends on how much time you intend on spending on the beach. Some people (like us) prefer to hang around the pool and go to the ocean every now and then. Others like to spend the day hanging on the beach.
Although we didn't stay at the RH (we were at the Riu Palace), I can tell you my observation. If you like to spend your day hanging at the beach, there isn't much beach available at the RH. If you intend on going to the beach every now and then for a walk, or to go in the ocean, then the RH would be a wonderful place to stay. |

. I LOVE this resort!!! Everything about it is 5 star. The beach problem is new and I'm sure they are going to correct it but from everything I've read, there is more than enough room to hang out there. I will probably divide my time between the beach and the pool as I do enjoy swiming in the ocean. I'd rather put up with a little less beach then having to deal with average to below average food, wearing resort ID bracelets, pool towel stress etc, etc, etc. If you decide on this resort I guarantee you will not regret it!!! |
