drive to/from Mexico
Rothmila, my husband and I did the drive from Playa to Ontario two years ago. We had taken the Yucatan Express and, because we were taking possession of our house here, packed up a van with household goods.
Subsequently the YE stopped service. We could have taken it back, but the dates were too early for us, so we opted to drive. Luckily, we had met a wonderful couple from Coz who drive back and forth from Virginia each season, so were able to drive in convoy with them.
It was an absolutely sublime experience. The scenery was gorgeous, especially the high plateau as we made our way to Mx City. Going through Mx City was arduous but doable - we only got lost a few times!
We had stopped over in Cholula/Puebla for a couple of days - our friends introduced us to Uniarte, one of the premier televara factories - incredible tour.
Long story short, it was a great trip and, with a few side stops, we made it home in nine or ten days.
