Weird Creatures
Since I was so very unoriginal in my other thread,
here is one I hope is new to all.(if it isn't original fireman, I don't wanna hear it. )Post a pic and the bio of the weirdest looking creature you have ever seen or heard about. I think (besides the platypus of course) this is the strangest looking thing I have ever seen. The Leafy 'Seadragon', pic is from this site. http://www.austmus.gov.au/fishes/fishfacts/spectype.htm Found only around Australia's Great Barrier Reef, relative to the seahorse. Has ruffles all over its body to mimic the type of plants (kelp) it lives amongst. Soooo strange looking! |

That's where I've seen them. I knew I'd seen them somewhere. We were there last summer for Father's Day. They ARE cool. ![]() |

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! How gross..... keep em coming!!
BTW, noticed this on the same site as Rissask's dragony thing...if it wasn't from such a well respected source I'd say it was a hoax!! ![]() A Fathead (genus Psychrolutes) trawled during the NORFANZ expedition at a depth between 1013 m and 1340 m, on the Norfolk Ridge, north-west of New Zealand, June 2003 (AMS I.42771-001). Photo: K. Parkinson © Australian Museum. The scientists and crew on board the RV Tangaroa affectionately called this fish "Mr Blobby". Note the parasitic copepod on Mr Blobby's mouth. |

The Jackalope has always been one of my favourites, but they're not particularly unusual or rare. As a matter of fact, I don't imagine it would occor to Rissask to mention them, since they probably raise them on her spread. Pretty common in her part of the world.
