Best Time To Book Trip To PDC For March '06?

I know there's a long way to go, BUT I was wondering when the best time to look for AI vacations for March '06? I was in PDC for the first time in March, and LOVED it!! I am also new at this (planning vacations in Mexico). Any suggestions??

If you're going AI, you're probably restricted by how soon beforehand they set their rates for that time of year. I don't think the Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan set their rates for this month until sometime last September.

But non-AI's are probably available now (we've already booked our room for Peep Fest at the Riviera Caribe - did that a month ago!)

Put simply.... the earlier, the better! Then you have longer to look forward to it!!

I don't know how it is done in the states but here in Canada the longer you wait to book the better. Rates for all the AIs go down by up to 50% if you wait to book about one month before you leave. The down side is tht sometimes you don't get the AI that you wanted. So far, that has never happened to me. However, there are sooo many beautiful AIs in the playacar area and also right in town also that you have alot to pick from. Then again...if money is no object then...book way!!

And my feeling is the sooner you book, the better. I dont do charters, and since I do regularly scheduled air, I stand the chance of losing a fare/price if I wait. I generally book MONTHS and MONTHS in advance.

For my trip in JULY, I booked i January, and I still didnt get the hotel I wanted. (Wanted Lindo, not avail, had to take Maya). Staying at IB complex because my "other" board is having a party in July.

Rates for the Lindo are out for February 06.

I actually just booked our March '06 trip for our honeymoon at EDR. I definitely suggest doing a google search on the AI you want to book though. We saved over $1200 by booking with an AI travel agency, rather than direct.
