Here’s some lyrics from hit songs of the 70's that you may well recognize. Try your hand at recalling the name of the song, and the artist that performed it. (Hint: No artist has more than one song on this entire list!! -- Yes, that also includes the Bee Gees!!) 1. "Think of me, babe whenever... some sweet talkin' girl comes along, singing a song." 2. "I need a drink and a quick decision." 3. "When I look back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all." 4. "Some people choose the city, some others choose the good ol' family home" 5. "My woman takes me higher. My woman keeps me warm." 6. "All of your brothers over in Africa tell all the folks in Egypt and Israel too." 7. "I laughed at all of your jokes. My love you didn't need to coax." 8. "My motto's always been 'When it's right, it's right', why wait until the middle of a cold, dark night?" 9. "Now how could I ever refuse? I feel like I win when I lose!!" 10. "All that pressure got you down. Has your head spinning all around." 11. "I want to make you understand I'm talking about a lifetime plan." 12. "We got a thing goin' on." 13. "I need you, by me, beside me to guide me." 14. "Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear." 15. "Baby, baby, I'll meet you -- same place, same time." 16. "The cities and towns I've been in -- from Boston to Denver and every town in between." 17. "Life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle!!!" 18. "One floor below me, you don't even know me -- I love you." 19. "Well, I guess it must be the woman in you who brings out the man in me." 20. "I feel a change, something movin', I scream your name -- look what you've got me doin'!" 21. "Well, I don't know why I came here tonight. I got the feeling that something ain't right." 22. Thanks for the quiz and corrections. About an hour after posting that, I was driving down the road, singing the lyrics in my head ... and realized my error. Shoot! But at least I did keep myself from turning around and editing the post right then and there -- evidence of some sense of priorities, haha!
Man, that's a lot of genres in ten little years. |

Thanks Bumper!!!! Your latest post just had me flashing back to 73 or 74 (doing the then-obligatory 1/2 way through university overseas backpacking trip) when I was driving through the Sahara Desert in northern Sudan at night by the light of the yellow head lamps of a Land Rover I was delivering to Nairobi (from Cairo) listening to "A Horse With no Name" on Voice of America short wave radio. The stars were so bright.............
Thanks again!! |
