Hotel rate increase
I was on La Tortuga's web site (anticipating next month's trip
) , and I noticed a rather significant rate increase. For example, a "standard plus" during low season went from $75 to $95. The other room classes seemed to have increased at about the same rate, based on my memory. Is this part of a trend? Are folks noticing other price increases? |

I think it's a great hotel, and I'm looking forward to staying there again, but I was surprised by the size of the increase. |

I'm really just curious if this is part of a trend, or maybe just a trial balloon. |

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but I agree that it does seem like a pretty steep price hike. We have stayed at La Tortuga on our last two visits. When we started researching for our November trip I noticed the increase and since we had already talked about maybe trying somewhere different we decided on Villa Amanecer for $70.00 per night vs. La Toturga for $95.00 ($25.00 per day will buy muchas cervezas in PDC you know - gotta have prioritites). Not saying that we won't stay at La Tortuga again because we really like the hotel - but the increase did send us elsewhere this time.
