As soon as we returned from the Florida Keys vacation that I had planned for last summer, I turned to trip planning as post-vacation depression therapy. Had to be somewhere that we could use our passports, whether they were actually required or not.

At first we were going to The Abacos. Then it was St John. Somehow that turned into planning for the Dominican Republic. Then, one day my husband was watching some history or travel show and commented that he wanted to go to Chichen Itza. That's what lead me here. We're both so excited to be almost there! The other day, hubby says, "If we don't get to go to Chichen Itza, that's ok."

I think that trip planning would be a great project for school kids. They's learn about geography, social studies, math and who knows what.
