Our AI had a menu at the pool bar... My suggestion, start at page one and work your way through them all. By the end of the week you're bound to find several you'll like.

Rubio,

I added the Banana Republic to my list of drinks to try, this one sounds yummy. Only 9 days to the Barcelo (3rd visit)......

Enjoy...don't forget your insulated mug...makes a huge difference in how many times you run back and forth to the bar.

ASP has bartending classes every day by the pool and you get to sample all kinds of goodies. Do I remember how to make anything???? Well, no but I tasted a lot of yummy stuff! Watch out for the "Ticket to Fly"....knocks your flip flops off!

One word....MOJITOS!!! Tried my first three years ago in PDC and I have been hooked since! I have gone so far as to buy a "mojito kit" so I can whip up my own. I am quite proud to say, I have nearly mastered the art!

What's in a "Mojito Kit"? A Muddling spoon or something? I've always just used an Iced Tea spoon......

Had something called a "cococontento" at Catalonia. Wish I could remember what was in it. Rum for sure but not sure what else. Really good stuff!

First thing I want to say is that we had guests over tonight and my mojitos were a serious hit! I consumed six myself, so I hope this is conherent. The main part of a "mojito kit" is, indeed, the muddle stick. It needs to be just the right diameter to muddle all the mint without killing your arm and not making an incredible mess. The chilled spoon probably is not extracting enough mint oil. Thats the key in the mojito, the mint. Outside of the muddling stick, the kit consists of a stainless steel shaker and shot jiggers. Although, with practice, the shot jiggers are just an annoyance. I can eyeball the right amount of rum much better than the shot jiggers. Tonight was my first attempt at "mass producing" mojitos and they very nearly approached my single glass concoctions. I was quite proud of my minty, citrusy, creations! Now...if only I was on the beaches in PDC! Hurry up July 13!!!!

Mojitos from scratch are a real joy. BUT,, I have major problems keeping fresh mint "instock". I have been on the mojito bandwagon for quite a few years now and have some insitghts to share.
If you have trouble getting mint or keeping it I suggest buying some Monin Mojito mix. It is wild mint and sugar cane simple syrup in a bottle. I get the mixes from the Monin store , 6 to a case...heh....
http://www.moninstore.com/specialty.php

They can be obtained on a lot of web sites and possibly locally also. Not as good as scratch but a lot more convenient for me ..(mint growing challenged)

Also dont try one with dark rum like Myers (nasty in a Mojito).. Stick with the light or golden rums, like the Appleton or Havana Club if you have it.
just my 2c

Well, at least you can recall the most important ingredient, Karen!
