Go to the menubar at the top...Tools > Options. On the left pane there are 5 options, click on General. Look to the right, the fourth section "Default Browser". Put a checkmark in "Firefox should check to see it is the default browser" then click the button "Check Now" and say yes when it asks you to make it the default.

Thanks for this particular tip.
Much appreciated indeed.

Ok.
So I dug up this old thread.

Just so ya know that I've found this VERY useful add-on for Firefox (IMO), and I thought I'd share.

It's called
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer

and here's the description:

Quote:
If you use Firefox on more than one computer, you'll want Foxmarks.
Install Foxmarks on each computer, and it will work silently in the background to keep your bookmarks synchronized.
You can also log in to my.foxmarks.com to manage your bookmarks from any computer.
I just love that last bit!

T, is there a benefit to this if one never uses a different computer?

Yeah... kind of similar to having a backed-up webmail account like Yahoo, but for your bookmarks.

When's the last time you backed up your bookmarks to an external device?
