Today in the mail we got our passports and our super-handy mapchick map. I realized in talking to my summer staff that I only have a couple weeks to get things in place so they can work without me around for two weeks. We haven't bothered putting the luggage away from Jessica's most recent conference because we'll need to start thinking about packing soon. Later this week, we're going shopping to make sure we have enough summer clothes . . . and I have serious anti-work inertia this morning. Yeah, I'd say it's sinking in that we're going soon.

Making things worse, today our flight tickets and info arrived. We don't leave until 10 on the day going down BUT we don't leave until 3 coming back- one last morning on the beach . . .

Maybe . . . we made a deal not to overschedule. The only two things I have planned ahead are a) the Tulum and beyond tour on the 8th and b) a nice dinner off-reservation on our anni (6th).

But you never know . . . if we're near there that night we just could drop by and say hi.

Now it's completely sunk in.

Tomorrow we go to my in-laws to drop off Jessica's cat. Then we're spending the day in Boston on Friday, then fly out Saturday.

The suitcases are completely packed, the apartment is mostly clean, we vacuumed out the Jeep this afternoon and I've taken all the unnecessary keys off my key ring.

We haven't looked at a weather forecast, and we're not worried. We're both leaving our watches at home (just bringing a little alarm clock so we don't oversleep for the Tulum tour). We have passports, we have notes on many good restaurants, we have 50 spf sunblock and stylishly floppy hats.

We know what to look for to avoid ATM fraud.

Both of us have extra swimsuits, not too many clothes, no jacket, and no plans beyond one tour and one couples' massage. We might make the peep meet on the 8th- we might not.

We know where the secret beach is. Well, the old one anway.

Many thanks to all for the extremely helpful information I've mined off this site (using the SEARCH function!). I know our vacation will be better. When we get back, I'll post a festive trip report and gun for 100 posts. In the meantime, I won't be anywhere near a computer.

I'll have a margarita for you,
