I have some friends that are staying there in October, and they have asked me what I know about it. I did give them this forum website, but am trying to be
as helpful to them before they go. Rusty, I did do a search for this resort and was reading it as soon as I posted this thread. There is some information there, so hope this will help. A couple questions: Is the pool area big? They had heard that they can purchase an all inclusive plan which includes a meal and drinks for the day. Can they still do that? They are staying there under the RCI timeshare program. Thanks! |

We stayed there the last week of February 26th to March 5th. I would say that the pool area is small and we like that about the place.
Their meal plan gets you breakfast and a meal coupon for either lunch or dinner. You get one coupon for each day. You can use one each day or two one day and none the next. It also includes all the drinks. Have them bring insulated mugs if they plan to hang out around the pool or on the beach, they work great. |

Fisherman's Village is a fairly recent acquisition (about a year ago) by the same property management firm that operates Sunset Hotels in Cancun (2 locations). I'd put this group in the category of "high on pressure, high on promise, and low on delivery". Yes, I've stayed with them for free on more than a few occasions (not at Fisherman's Village), thanks to one of my clients. Long story...
http://www [dot] royalsunsetcancun [dot] com The following photos are at least a year old but the place looks about the same now, except for the beach. I think it's pretty much non-existant! The property itself is attractive and the walk to downtown Playa del Carmen is between 10-15 minutes and extremely safe in this gated community. Michael Holmes Villa Flamboyan is a stones throw away. Hey-fireinmn, I have been meaning to set up a MN peep get together.
We met Jimmy last year and would be cool to hook up with others in the area. We live in Cottage Grove. Let's plan a date sometime and see how many others are interested. |
