Minnesota Peep Meet...who's in???
It's time for a Minnesota Peeps meet. Who's interested? any suggestions on a location? What works best for folks as far as timing?
Looking forward to getting together and meeting you all! Of course everyone is welcome...even if you aren't a MN Peep. Anyone from Wisconsin want to join us? How about Texans...any of you up for it? Bumper it's what an 8 - 9 hour drive to the Twin Cities...any chance you'll be coming this way this summer? How about Cuff - SoDak is not that far you know...

Are we talking for a night out? Maybe we could meet in the Cities and try some of the places JimmyMn has suggested??? Some good Mexican food, margaritas and mojitos sounds pretty good to me! I'll go back and see if I can find his suggestions...or if you read this Jimmy, lead us in the right direction!

Mexican would be nice, but a fun place would be more important! Here are a few suggestions: Dicks Bar - Hudson, WI ($1 Bloody Mary w/chaser on Sat/Sun Mornings) ...also have a fantastic breakfast menu. PD Pappy's - Stillwater, MN (great place right on the St Croix River) ...typical but good bar food and a great place to be on a weekend afternoon. Blondies - Brooklyn Park, MN (reasonably priced drinks and great food selection) Maple Grove, MN (Assorted list of chain restaurants at the junction of 94, 494, & 694) WA Frost or Sweeneys-St. Paul's Cathedral Hill (both have courtyards) ChatterBox Pub- S. Minneapolis ($9.95 Brunch and reasonably priced drinks) Downtown Minneapolis has way too many possibilities but then you have to deal with parking. The two times I met with Nicole and Tony (nadams & rusty), we went to Sunsets in Woodbury. Great place, but the drinks are expensive. You can thank them for providing delivery of the webcam to James in Playa del Carmen. Hopefully this will get you started... Jimmy Last edited by JimmyMN; 05-18-2005 at 07:04 AM. |

It was talked about in that other Minnesota thread.
Bufante, I also thought about Apple River tubing. We can show those Texans that we know how to tube and drink, too ![]() We'll be staying by Ridgedale on June 4; we have Twins tickets for the 5th. |

As for the Apple River... I'm almost tempted to go to the Texas Toobin Regatta just to see how it compares. I think Apple River tubing is fantastic. Doing the canoe run from Taylor Falls to Osceola is not nearly as wild but hard to beat the scenery. Jimmy Last edited by JimmyMN; 05-17-2005 at 08:40 PM. |

JimmyMN-never done the Taylor Falls to Osceola-but I am familiar with that town (St. Croix?) I think--awesome town-very scenic-I think it is right on the boarder of MN and WI? Just before you cross the river?
We could definitly show those Texans what real tubing is all about! My group of friends from college goes to Apple River every year, usually the weekend after the 4th of July, and there are plenty of Canucks, Wisconsinites, and Minnie's there. They really know how to have a good time! Do the Texans tie their tubes together like they do at Apple River, or do they float down by themselves? |

My interest in going to the Texas Toobin event would also include a visit to Schlitterbahn Waterpark... it's been on my to-do list for a couple of years now. We usually try to work the coaster and waterpark hotspots into roadtrips whenever we can. Jimmy |

Our cabin is on a lake very close to Taylor's Falls. It's beautiful country. We walk the trails there a lot. Visit in the fall and hike.....it's gorgeous! It's a shame that there was vadalism here this spring!
Another fun place we tried last summer was St. Anthony Main. Hadn't been there before. Several places to eat, live jazz, comedy club and outside patios with a view. Great night! Had a wonderful mojito at the very modern rest. down from Sophia's (can't remember the name!). The bartender was Brazilian (and VERY goood-looking to this middle-aged mom!). Need to have a warm night to enjoy this area! |
