How many of you live in Playa?

I'm just curious. I see that some folks appear to know each other quite well, and here I am just sneaking in every day to ask a question or two.

Isn't the internet wonderful though? How did we manage before?

A lot of us know each other through this board and various peep meets that have happened as a result of it, both in Playa and other venues.

My family and I were lucky enough to live there for a short period, and got to know some great people who live there permanently, and other great people who don't.

It IS amazing really, the amount of friends we've met through this board. We had some people who acted like we were crazy meeting people over the Internet and then planning a meet in person. But it's no different than the penpals my grandmother had in Africa and other various world places that she would go and meet.

And we've made some great lasting friendships that survive outside of Playa. In fact, we're heading to San Fran this summer to spend some time with our friends the Holmes', and hopefully heading to Texas for a great toobin' party.

and then how many either want to live in playa or are making a plan to see it happen!?! i know i want to and am making the plan!

I have to agree with Leasa!! This board has allowed us to meet some terrific people and not only keep in touch in Playa, but outside of it as well. Our kids(4 of the little buggars)are young, and right now we aren't in a position to live in Playa, but one day we'd LOVE to have a place there or close by.
We also hope to make it to at least one of the toobin' regattas this summer as well!

Hello there! We have a condo in Playacar,purchased now for a dream many of us seem to share...permanent residence. Right now we rent it to vacationers but that we hope will end some day[no offense to vacationers,after all that's what we are still].Heather will be posting our place some time soon I hope in her 'rentals' section.
I also appreciate this forum...it has helped us already in so many ways! Despite going to Playa for over 15 years we still have much to learn,and this is the best place. Best of luck to all fellow Playa-want-to-live-there folk.If you drop in Steve[Playa maya],a special hello. Don in Canada

I told my parents that I've been searching for a place online and chatting with you all and they said I'm crazy! My dad is convinced that we'll reach Playa and find out that the condo does NOT exist, and that we'll be stranded. He also said that I should be careful since some 'women' might actually be men...ladies could you please check to make sure so I can let my dad know

Everytime we visit that area we come back talking about moving there... I guess it's okay to dream, but I sure wouldn't mind.

Congratualations to the folks who actually live there!!! We'll keep dreaming in the meantime.

Your father's absolutely, right to be cautious. But that's why we've been walking around the town and giving you 'on the ground' knowledge so you can arrive at a great 'real' condo with no nasty surprises. My only fee is good karma

Hi Mindbender (another stage name for the forum!)

You have been absolutely wonderful, and a simple 'thank you' just does not seem enough.

It's hard to pick a place online because the pictures all look lovely, and everything seems bigger and better. Your ground knowledge has probably saved us from spending our three weeks listening to cats and dogs having their own 'fiesta'!

Now I need to do something good so I'll have lots of positive Karma for that long, long journey to PDC.

I am Traci and hubby is Terry, hence TNT and our last name. When DH registered he used this, then I took over. He has one he uses "silentbutdeadly", but only posts occasionally

I know there are sometimes probs w/peeps being who they say they are, but I have found it's VERY rare on this site. SO tell your daddy, that we'll watch out for you
