I think that you are 100% correct here. I think that the last time they "moved" the island, that is what caused Farraday's "shift" in time, hence the need to stay on the exact heading whenever you leave and come back.

Does anyone remember the scene in the season finale where Kate caught Claire in the babies room? In that scene, Claire seems to have lost her Australian accent. Did anyone notice that or was it just me? I wonder if it is relevant.

Didn't Ben say Locke had to go back too (or his body)? If so, he wasn't one of the Oceanic 6 so the theory thaty only the 6 HAVE to go back shouldn't be the case.

But Locke was on the plane- so maybe everyone who was on the plane needs to go back. But that would mean, Michael, Walt, and Jin would need to go, too- which could be hard if they were blown up in the explosion (not Walt). So maybe Locke is just important to have on the island, for whatever reason- even if he is dead Who knows

I noticed it too...and wondered if it was significant. We shall see!

Lost was number one in the ratings last week. That alone should ensure at least one more complete season of LOSTNESS.

That's great (and not unsurpsrising, since it had almost no competition in original programming)...but I do believe that ABC has guaranteed the producers of TWO more seasons consisting of something like 16 or 18 episodes per season. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I remember the producers negotiating for a specific number of episodes in order to finish off all the storylines to their satisfaction. I hate to think of the end though.

Bump...

I was watching some episodes from this season, and I noticed something else...(I do that from time to time...)

I was wondering if anyone else noticed this. When the doc washes up on the shore with his throat slit, he also has a cut on his upper left cheek that has been stitched up with black thread. That was in "The Shape of Things To Come". Then in "Cabin Fever" when Kemey cuts his throat, the cut is there on his left cheek, but NO STITCHES.

Also from this episode, Matthew Abaddon is the orderly that is with Locke. I know that I've said this before, but I feel that Abaddon is Walt. Everyone during run of the show has called Locke "John" except for Walt. Walt always (or maybe 95% of the time) called him "Mr. Locke", which is what Abaddon did during the scene.

Just my thoughts. Plus, I wanted to get this thread going again, at least for a little while...

I would think that Walt calls John Locke "Mr. Locke" because kids are suppose to do that to adults. All of my life I have pretty much call my elders but their sir name but then again that might just be a Southern thing. My mom and dad would have beat my butt as a kid if I didn't do that and answer questions with "Sir" and "Ma'am". I still do so today no matter age.

But Abobbon being Walt does make me do a little thinking.

Interesting observations about Walt and Abaddon, though in general I am wary of such a one of simple equation, on this show, as Abaddon = Walt grown up.

I especially like the language point, however my guess is that it might well be undermined by comparison to the meeting between Abaddon and Hurley. I mean I'm guessing if you look, maybe Abaddon calls Hurley "Hugo" of maybe even "(Mr) Reyes" in a way that Walt would not have.

Don't get me wrong. That's how I was raised, as well as I've raised my boys. Not enough of that IMO.

But I think this is a little different. The amount of time Walt and Locke spent together was a very brief moment in time, but I feel that Locke made such an impression, and Walt somehow knowing what Locke was destined for (in a general sense anyway). That's how Walt remembers him, as "Mr. Locke".

I'll have to dig back into my episodes to come up with some other things I've noticed. It'll be fun to bring them up for discussion from time to time until the new season starts.

One other thing. My son (HUGE Lost fan) informed me that Lost started filming this week. Yah!

Your points all do tie in well with the producers' comment early on that if you want to understand the show, you really need to look carefully at the episode "Special" from the first season (the one where Locke helps Walt learn knife throwing, the one with the comic book, where Walt runs off and then Locke helps Michael find him and save him from one of the polar bears, etc).

Yay! Flash, does your son (or do you) know when Lost is expected back? It feels like such a long time that they've been gone already! Thanks for starting up this thread again!

Hey Eileen!

I'll have to check with him to see if he's heard anything, but the last I heard was late Jan. to Feb. I believe they're planning on the "24" format again. Once it starts, a new episode every week until May. No re-runs (unless you count the previous weeks episode before the new one)

Does suck waiting though...

On more thing. When Ben and Locke head down to the Orchid, Locke is asking several questions (like he does) and Ben pulled out the TV and had Locke watch the tape. We don't see the TV put back. Then Kemey comes down and the TV is tuck back where it was to begin with. Then, after all of that, and Kemey dies, Ben starts shoving the portal full again, and the TV is back in the way where Locke watched the tape.

I can't believe that it's editing/shooting error. Too many people are watching WAY too close for that to happen. But I don't know what it means exactly.

Oh well, that's it for now!

Later!
