Nope, didn't write down the numbers yet, the dang thing was only in the house less than 24 hours!

Again, hubby has been gone for a day so maybe a new set of eyes will help out here. But it's difficult to miss a big white envelope with something sturdy and square in it...not like you'd ever crumple it up and mistake it for garbage.
Oldest kid was doing a report on the same table where were left them and had construction paper and stuff all over so me thinks he could have been the one to gather everything up and throw it away, not realizing that perhaps the passport envelope was there. Or...he hid it so his little brother can't come with us..another theory although a far fetched one.

I'll be calling the vital stats office first thing Monday morning in the town where he was born and they should be able to get us a new one. Their only about 30 minutes from here and hubby works nearby so he can pick it up. Not even sure if this is the way you would go about getting a birth cert. locally. If not, I'll use your link Beachnutt, thanks.

And if it never turns up, which I don't think it will, I think the saying goes...."But we never received it! We got one passport but the other one must have gotten lost in the mail!"

Either way...I'm mighty P.O.'ed!
