I remember "god jul' and "mange takk". Grandma was from Alesund and Grandpa was from Stavenger. My relatives used to send me kroner when I was little.
We recently had an old letter translated. It was written by a relative in Oslo on Auguts 5, 1945. She talks about their freedom after five years of occupation by the Germans.
When we retire, we hope to visit Norway and see where our ancestors lived.
