For those of you up to a worthwhile trip down the highway, CHEMUYIL is another place to experience great pizza. Cheymuyil is a peaceful Mayan community on the jungle side of the highway just five minutes south of Akumal, more or less twenty minutes drive from Playa. Watch carefully for the entrance. The place is called PIZZERIA LEO. Not only is the pizza tasty but they have fresh salads and pasta, too. The restaurant is situated in the centre of town and it's kinda fun to watch the locals, most of which work in the tourist industry, getting off the buses as they return home all decked out in their traditional Mayan costumes.
